Residential Food Scraps Drop-off

The City of Flagstaff Sustainability Office provides a free and convenient food scraps drop-off for Flagstaff residents. This program seeks to divert food waste from the landfill to advance the City's Rethink Waste Plan and Carbon Neutrality goals.

How does it work?

Community members bring acceptable materials (see below) to any of the listed drop-off locations after taking a short online survey. This is meant to educate participants and deter contamination of unacceptable materials. Stations are serviced on a weekly basis and material is weighed, sorted, and transported to be processed in northern Arizona.

Join the Program!

Watch this brief video before reviewing the information and taking a short quiz on how to properly use the compost locations.

Once you complete the quiz you will receive the access codes to all the Food Scrap drop off locations.

**Food waste and other accepted materials may NOT be left around the containers. For this program to function properly, we must work together to keep these drop-off areas clean.
